Main Duties
In 1991, I entered this museum as an Assistant Curator. Since that time, my main responsibility has been to serve as the Paleontology Section Collection Manager. In April 2003, I took on the extra responsibility of the Borehole Cores Collection Manager. My duties include: field survey and collection of paleontological samples, sample preparation and identification; borehole cores cataloging, registration; original file building, computerization, and listing of records, storage, and specimen storage area planning, maintenance and security; as well as training of volunteers, and other related tasks. Although this position is sometimes hard work, I do thoroughly enjoy it.

My research's interests are on Cenozoic reef-building organisms, including scleractinian, calcareous algae, larger foraminiferas and molluscs. Previously, I surveyed the fossiliferous limestone of the Coastal Range of Taiwan, and gained a better understanding of the limestone surrounding volcanic arcs. Since I entered the museum, my research has been focused on the survey of southwestern Taiwan limestone lithofacies and fossils. After several years of surveys and fossil collection, I proposed the selection of the fossil coral reefs at Kungtien, Chentoushan, Tudikungchi, Takangshan, Hsiaokangshan, Panpinshan, Shoushan, Fengshan, and Hsiaoliuchiu, as the major study locations to investigate coral species diversity and community variations. It is my hope that through these studies a better understanding will be gained of fossil coral species compositions and origins in southwestern Taiwan.
