摘要There are four major ethnic labeling: Fujianese, Cantonese, Cooked (indigenes), Raw (indigenes) in the Japanese period Taiwan Household Registers. In the past only the first three labelings were studied in the “Taiwan Historical Household Registers Database, 1906‐1945 (THHRD)”. This is the first paper focusing on the Raw (indigenes). Today the household registers of 4,477 individuals in the Majia township (most Paiwan indigenes), 5,056 individuals in the Taoyuan township (most Bunun indigenes), and 6,205 individuals in the Changbin township (most Ami indigenes) are digitized in the THHRD. The different social structures between Paiwan (primogeniture), Bunun (patrilineal), and Ami (matrilineal) reflect on their demographic data.
