摘要本計畫係針對南段恆春西台地碳酸鹽岩進行研究,探討對象包括恆春石灰岩與馬鞍山層中的冷泉碳酸鹽岩。根據野外地質調查結果,選定於關山、頂潭仔、貓鼻頭等地,依序完成70m深度HC-1 、HC-2 、HC-3地質鑽探岩心之取樣。總合野外調查與岩心觀察結果,顯示關山與貓鼻頭鑽井附近均無珊瑚礁之發育,兩地石灰岩之間關係有待後續探討,但二者在岩性組成上則有明顯不同,其碳酸鹽岩之總厚度分別將近19m與90m。HC-1岩心中,關山石灰岩之下為56m厚之陸源礫岩與砂岩,可能是海底水道之快速沉積。在HC-2岩心中,冷泉碳酸鹽岩地層厚度12.87m,為恆春西台地之最,此種碳酸鹽岩僅發育於馬鞍山層泥岩之頂部地層,未來可據以探討恆春西台地泥貫入體開始發育之時間,以提供區域地體發育歷程重建依據。HC-3鑽井,岩心中之碳酸鹽岩地層均為生物碎屑石灰岩,總厚度超過67m,其下部約厚30m地層為含黃鐵礦之黑灰色石灰岩,推測很可能是在還原環境中沉積而成,此種石灰岩亦為恆春西台地之首次紀錄,但此一推論仍有待後續岩象學分析之驗證。
This study focused on carbonate rocks in southern West Hengchun Hill, including those carbonates of Hengchun Limestone and cold-seep carbonates in Maanshan Formation. According to the results of field survey, selected in Kuanshan, Tingtanzai, Maupitou, are completed 70m depth of borehole cores and designated seriatim as Nos. HC-1, HC-2, and HC-3. Based on field outcrops and borehole cores, the whole thickness of Kuanshan Limestone and Maupitou Limestone is approximately 19m and 90m respectively. Both carbonate are mainly composed of bioclastics, whereas the rock textures and fossil assemblages are quite different. In addition, no reefal limestone has been recognized from the Kuanshan Limestone and Maupitou Limestone. The lateral lithostratigraphic correlations between these two limestone are left for future study. In borehole core HC-1, the underlying strata of Kuanshan Limestone are composed of 56m thick conglomerate and sandstone. This poorly-sorted lithology is mainly consisted of terrigenous siliciclastics and various amounts of coral fragments, probably was deposited in a deep-sea channel. In No. HC-2 core, 12.87m thick cold-seep carbonates occurred in the topmost mudstone strata of Maanshan Formation. This is the most thick cold-seep carbonates that have been discovered from the West Hengchun Hill to date. Study on this unique carbonate rock may reveal the developments of mud diapirisms in the western Hengchun Peninsula. In No. HC-3 core, carbonate rocks are mainly composed of bioclastics and minor terrigenous siliciclastics, with a total thickness of 67.64m. It is worth noting that the lower 30m carbonate rocks are grey-black and contain pyrite. Such occurrence of carbonate rock has not been recorded, probably were deposited in anoxic environments. However, this analogism needs further petrographic examination to verify.
