| 摘要 | This article reports that Cordia dentata Poir. has become a newly naturalized species of Boraginaceae in Taiwan. The species is distinguished by a striated calyx that splits circumscissily or tears irregularly, and by a yellow twisted corolla that is notably larger than those of related taxa. It is native to tropical America, especially Central America and the Caribbean, and is valued for its medicinal properties. Field observations confirm self-sustaining cohorts at several introduction sites. These observations meet the C3 naturalization criteria defined by Blackburn et al., indicating that the species is recently naturalized rather than invasive. This study provides a detailed morphological description, photographs, a distribution map, and a key for identifying wild Cordia species in Taiwan. |
