| 摘要 | A new species of *Cirsium*, *C. taiwanense* Y.H. Tseng & C.Y. Chang, from central-northern Taiwan is reported here. This species resembles *C. hosokawae* Kitam. in having a densely cobwebby abaxial leaf surface, but differs by its yellow (versus vivid purplish red) corolla and by the acute angle between the midrib and lateral veins, compared with the nearly right angle seen in *C. hosokawae*. *Cirsium taiwanense* has 2n = 32 chromosomes, differing from other Taiwanese members of subsect. *Australicirsium* Kitam. (2n = 34). An identification key to the *Cirsium* taxa of Taiwan is also provided. |
