摘要 | After the 1999 Chichi earthquake (Mw =7.6), the Chelungpu fault caused a huge amount of uplift in Central Taiwan. The coseismic uplift affected the stability of the river, and the river channel produced rapid changes. This unique short-term rapid channel change is also a rare case in the world, we attempt to understand the history of channel morphology related to rapid uplifting in a decade scale and the influence of erosion with riverbed surface materials. In the past two decades, some research about major rivers related to earthquake uplifting have been done, such as Taan River, and Choushui River. This study focuses on the channel changes of those secondary rivers with small catchment areas, in an attempt to understand the erosion effect of different stream power and the evolution of knickpoint shifts in those secondary rivers after the Chichi earthquake. The Toubiankeng Creek is one of them. We use the SfM-MVS method to produce DSMs and orthoimages from aerial photos each year since the 1999 Chichi earthquake in 23 year ago. By comparing the differences in GIS data and field work, we found the incision of the Toubiankeng Creek reached 2-3 meters. Unlike the higher incision of the main river, it almost equals to the uplift of the Chichi earthquake. The main channel incision of the Toubiankeng Creek can extend at least 1.2 kilometers upstream, but the knickpoint is only 460m from the fault scarp. The channel erosion is not only in the hanging wall of the Chelongpu fault, but also can be found footwall side (~500m). Lithology of the riverbad shows little effect on channel incision, but great influence on channel widening. |
