| 摘要 | Taiwan ranks as one of the mostis near the northern limit of distribution area of theof family Musaceae , and there are only six native Musa species and varieties have been recognized in the literature. In order to future To understand the genetics and extent the of genetic diversity of in wild bananas in Taiwan, the artificial hybridsization between Musa itinerans var. formosana and M. balbisiana Colla, here named Musa × formobisiana H.-L. Chiu, C.-T. Shii & T.-Y.A. Yang hybrid nov., was conductedwere produced. A new hybrid, Musa × formobisiana H.-L. Chiu, C.-T. Shii & T.-Y.A. Yang hyb. nov., is described and illustrated at Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute (TARI). The resulting hybrid provides useful information for banana breeding. Photos and a comparison of the characteristics of Musa × formobisiana with these of the parent species are provided. Voucher specimens are at the Herbarium, National Museum of Natural Science, Taiwan (TNM). |
