| 摘要 | This study focuses on a unique group of Lower Jurassic (lower Toarican) radiolarians characterized by having pylomate spumellarian-like spherical tests and nassellarian-like internal spicules. This report describes a new genus Fenestrula and two new species for these particular radiolarians. The presence of Fenestrula species in the Warm Springs Member of the Snowshoe Formation, east-central Oregon, represents the first fossil record of internal spicule-bearing spherical radiolarians known in Jurassic rocks. The discovery of Fenestrula spp. adds only a little to our knowledge of Mesozoic internal spicule-bearing spherical radiolarians, but they are certainly an important link in the missing records between Paleozoic and Cenozoic internal spicule-bearing spherical radiolarians. |
