| 摘要 | 本研究主題為「博物館與華人觀眾」，關注英國博物館如何透過其收藏、展示及教育活動搭起與華人觀眾的橋樑。研究範圍時間界定在一九九○年代至今，空間界定於英國倫敦地區，研究方法以文獻資料、深度訪談、個案研究以及活動觀察為主，探討近十年來博物館如何受到多元文化教育思潮的影響，走向觀眾多元化，並發展華人觀眾。第一節，討論英國多種族社會與多元文化政策的制定。第二節，回顧華人移民的歷史與環境變遷。第三節，探討華人教育與中國影像對於文化認同的影響。第四節，檢視博物館如何因應多元文化政策並發展新的觀眾。第五節，以維多利亞與亞伯特博物館（Victoria & Albert Museum）發展華人觀眾作為個案。最後對研究主題作出總結。
During the 1980s and 1990s, there was a noticeable increase in the number of exhibitions purporting to address aspects of cultural diversity in London’s museums and galleries.
This study focuses on one aspect of cultural diversity - Museums and Chinese Audiences. It aims to examine how multicultural education as a social ideal is conditioned by the British social structure and explores the roles of museums in the building of a new self-image and helping communities appreciate their heritage. To these ends, this study examines the multicultural approaches utilized by the Victoria and Albert Museum to provide an understanding of how a museum can pay increased attention to “new” audiences by providing access to different cultural groups to explore, understand and express historic and cultural concerns that are of importance to them. The information used in the study is drawn from documents, personal interviews and the author’s participation in workshops and events. |
