| 摘要 | This study reports the naturalization of Piper aduncum L. (Piperaceae) in Taiwan, where stable populations recorded on Xinshan Trail (Nantou County) and in Renshan Botanical Garden (Yilan County). As a shrub to small tree, this species can be distinguished from other indigenous Piper species in Taiwan. We provide a comprehensive characterization of this species, integrating taxonomic description, macromorphological, pollen morphology based on scanning electron microscopy (SEM), anatomical observations of vegetative organs, and somatic chromosome counts (x = 12; 2n = 24). Furthermore, an updated taxonomic key of Piper L. in Taiwan is provided to
assist in the identification and future monitoring of this potentially invasive species. |
