| 摘要 | With the evolution of social norms and structural transformations, natural history museums' roles have shifted from collections to public engagement. Museums, as shared cultural resources, bear the dual responsibility of preserving collections over time while also increasing their value through innovative approaches. Striking a balance between collection preservation and public engagement has become a critical challenge for modern museums.
This study examines the National Museum of Natural Science's "Storage Unboxing" activities in 2023, which highlight innovative practices in biology, geology, and anthropology research and collections. The activity aims to educate the public about the museum's processes for producing, preserving, managing, and utilizing specimens, highlighting the resources dedicated to their collections and their use. The survey results showed high participant satisfaction and strong interest in similar future activities. Observing these activities confirms that collections are central to museums, necessitating a balance of accessibility and security while emphasizing social justice and cultural equity. |
