| 摘要 | The Indo-Pacific finless porpoise (Neophocaena phocaenoides) inhabits a narrow band of shallow waters along the coastal Indo-Pacific and experiences high levels of incidental mortality owing to fishery activities. We isolated seven polymorphic microsatellite loci with (GAAA)n motifs from finless porpoises using an enrichment cloning procedure. We characterized these loci by screening 32 finless porpoises from the Taiwan Strait. The mean number of alleles per locus was 10.3 (ranging from 5 to 16). The observed heterozygosity of each locus ranged from 0.3 to 0.9. Evaluation of cross-species amplification of these markers across 14 cetaceans indicates that these microsatellite loci are useful for ecological, evolutionary and conservative research on the finless porpoise, as well as other cetacean species. |
