摘要Museums are well-known as places of learning; however, only a few teachers could integrate students’ museum visit experiences into their regular teaching curriculum. This study attempts to help school teachers building an ability to teach science in a museum setting. There were two stages in this study. The first stage was a case study of experienced museum teachers, which concentrates on the design of a museum teaching model and the different types of connections that teachers make between school works and museum visits, and according to the results of the case study, create a workshop for teacher training. The second stage of the study was the design-based research to determine whether the workshop provides enough of the necessities for constructing a professional museum teaching model. The workshop included an introduction to museum learning, museum teaching practice, the materials developed, and teaching trials. The main results of this study are the design of a museum teaching model (object centered approach), the main factors for the development of museum teaching abilities, and a museum science teacher training program. Feedback from members of the workshop for the teacher training program could help teachers to overcome three of the five main obstructions of teachers attempting to teach in a museum, namely, a lack of experience in learning from objects, unfamiliar with museum exhibit themes, and lack of self-confidence in teacher professional development. The training program is unable to affect the other two reasons that prevent teachers teaching in museums, namely, personal expertise in the sciences and no interest in the subject they teach. In addition, there is a brief introduction of future research approaches and several suggestions according to these findings.
